I can relate to this. I was much younger (16+ years) than the cousins in my generation. About 10+ years older than their kids, which made me the perfect age to “babysit” during family gatherings. Don’t think I graduated to the “adult table” until all those kids were grown and I was well into my 30s.
Last time I went to a family christmas I was 34 years old and was still relegated to the kid’s table while my cousin, two years younger, sat with the grown ups. This was because he was MARRIED and I was not. I quit going to family christmas years ago.

Looks like a certain cartoonist watched the Brady Bunch TV movie where Cindy was relegated to the kids’ table at Thanksgiving.
