    That customer deserved it. The vast majority of CSRs genuinely want to help. But no one who has been verbally abused right at the beginning of the call is going to have any interest in the customer’s problem. If you want to be treated like a human, act like one.

    My husband works in customer service and it’s very annoying to get someone on the phone who wants to cuss you out or blame you for the problem they’re having like you have some personal vendetta against them. It makes it very difficult to help them. You have to try to calm them down first. I’d feel like slamming the phone down on them but he’s always been rather patient, he’s had to be to put up with me for almost 25 years lol!
