Vegetarian: Old Native American word for ‘Bad Hunter’
but seriously, Justin, if you are a veg. then good on ya, it IS a life choice and not an easy one. If so, watch your protein intake and smile at our jokes, they can’t be that bad and none I think mean spirited.
Not to worry M’Lady Thornewood, I take no offense. I happen to be vegetarian, but I’m of the mind that if people feel compelled to comment, they must like something about the strip- even if they don’t just come out and say that they love the strip.
HEY EVERYONE! Since I read LT’s post, I wrote a blog about being a vegetarian and why- if you’re interested.
It ain’t all preachy and stuff, don’t worry.
Go to http://mythtickle.wordpress.com to digest it.
buuuuurp. Ew. Broccoli burp.
Justin,
First, let me say I LOVE Mythtickle–the artwork, the multilevel humor, the gags, the story arcs, the characters, the settings, the subtle extra bits–EVERYTHING! I am in awe of cartoonists in general for turning out creative stuff day after day, but some are truly special, truly exceptional– Charles Schultz, Walt Kelly, Milton Caniff, Carl Barks, Bill Watterson, T.K. Ryan, Justin thompson, and a few others. Thank you!
On the other topic:
You have a lot of veggie company. My wife and I are lacto-vegetarian (we eat dairy products but no fish), but we don’t make a big deal out of it. We are old enough that we don’t get the funny looks too often (I suspect that some people probably dismiss our choice as some kind of medical problem)
We have a friend close to the plight of the vegetarian-wannabe vampire – she’s a vegan Argentinian! (Argentina is a land of carnivores with far higher per capita beef consumption than the U.S.)
Thanks much for that, Lemon. Too KInd. I don’t think Charles Schulz was vegetarian, but Patrick McDonnell of ‘Mutts’ is and so is Berke Breathed of ‘Bloom County’.
So I am in good company- if not cartooningly, at least foodingly.
Cheers.
Definitely not mean-spirited, Justin. But something tells me that my fellow Jungian ENFPs are way disproportionately represented among cartoonists, and here’s a little trade secret: we ENFPs are ALL nuts. :))

Just remember this wisdom: Vegetables aren’t food. Vegetables are what food eats.

You are what you eat.

If you are what you eat, then Justin is definitely nuts.

Yup. People are omnivores by nature, so nurture your breadth of tastes, my vampire friend, and don’t be bound by rude constraints.

Lewreader - a diet of ramen noodles doesn’t make you a vegetarian.

All the best cartoonists are vegetarians…. Scott Adams, Dan Pirarro, Justin Thompson, Charles Schulz (not sure about that last one).

Dypak,
I replied to your post from yesterday today, but GoComics says I replied yesterday to your post of Wednesday, which you now won’t see ‘till tomorrow…
(I was trying to write a joke something like this at “Brewster Rocket, ” but couldn’t make it sound believable!)
