I do not understand. I am using ME on a few computers and only ever had one problem, years ago, and downloaded a driver and have never had a problem since.
Wow. The “Black Screen of Death” is even scarier than the “Blue Screen of Death”. The blue screen destroys hours of hard work in a matter of mili-seconds. The black screen tells me that I’m not funny….I shall go climb a tree and cry alone now.
P.S. I LOVE my PC. Never had a blue screen of death and I don’t look like everyone else at school:
I loves me some Windows 7, because I bought a new PC to run it on that flies compared to my vintage-2001 XP machine. I actually did get a BSOD trying to uninstall a VPN client that doesn’t work on the 64-bit PC (which I learned by RTFM after I installed it); system restore saved the day with little difficulty.
I have just about beat it into submission (my term for getting it to work the way I want). I went through the same process with my Mac at work: I am OS-neutral.
Windows and Mac are two sides of the same evil coin. I miss my technical pens and my leads, my electric eraser and my vellum. And now computers are taking over the performance of live music. We’re going to end up with CDs of music composed and performed by computers, and we’ll liisten to it in buildings designed by and for computers. Not me, though, I’m keeping my harpsichord and will revel in my ability occasionally to hit a wrong note just because.
I think I may have caused it everyone… I read “Lio” first. I am sure that is what overloaded the system and caused Her Majesty’s site to error. I apologize. Next time I will red Her Maj first….
Memories - how we soon forget the “greenish” characters on a black screen of the first PC’s….
Wait a minute - that “greenish” color is about the same shade as the “greenish GENIUS”!
I’m thinking windows 7 is just a repackaged vista. What ever it is I can’t get into my family tree site anymore it shuts down. All that work and its basically lost. So sling away PAB and HRH all you want!

I can think of a lot of strips more likely to generate that error than Her Majesty…

Whoa! Flashback to the Windows Me days, I thought that the screen was supposed to be blue when I installed that one.

Waitminute, I thought Windows 7 was actually “better” OS for Microsoft. Pap, have you actually tried it yet? :)

There’s never going to be an OS without SOME kind of problem.

The screen is blue, the actual blue that Microsoft uses, but in translation to monochrome it’s dark enough to become black.

First time through, I missed what the BSOD actually said. For those that can’t read it, the gist of it is:
A problem has been detected and this… prevent damage to your readership
The problem seems to be caused by the…
PUNCHLINE_NOT_FUNNY
If this is the first time you’ve seen… reread the comic… …
If problems persist, go read “Lio”… sure that the error is not caused by… if this does not solve your problem,… too highbrow for you. Go read “State…

Fine, here’s the full-size BSOD image for those of you who must know what it says.

Of course, in the full context (with the portion cut off) it’s implying that you should read “Lio” to make sure you have a sense of humor.

It was great before the clarification. It’s even better after. Thanks much!
