Men are difficult to buy for, as evidenced by my father, my son, and myself. Never know what we want. But we are also the easiest to please. We will be happy with whatever you buy us.
Well, one of the things on my Christmas list is a tie. A narrow tie. A kelly green narrow tie. A kelly green narrow tie from http://www.2002ties.com Only $8 American.
Maybe John hasn’t started his midlife crisis railroad hobby yet.
I like getting shirts and ties from my wife. I don’t particularly care what colour or style my shirts are, and it makes her happy to pick that stuff out for me. If she didn’t, I’d just wear a shirt until it fell apart, then think, “I guess I need a new shirt,” walk into a store, think, “There is a shirt. I shall buy that shirt” and that would be it.
I can’t seem to add
For Better or for Worse to my daily comics
I followed your instructions and the screen to add or make changes did not appear. I tried a few times. Please add it on for me.
Thank you

discoEd, when you said uppers, on the first read I thought you meant false teeth. Took a while to sink in.
bald, I think we had a view of John’s favorite magazine a while back.
siviat, I just have FBORFW at gocomics (this page) on my saved “bookmarks” on my home browser page and click on it everyday. It gives me the new comic for that day. Easy.
Check out Arlo and Janis on comics.com the last couple of days to see another dilemma with buying a guy something for Christmas.
Not so crazy about the gift giving, myself. Most of them are not what the receiver wants and the whole holiday becomes merely a buying spree. And there’s pressure to give a gift to people you don’t even like! Give me Thanksgiving any day, when all you do is cook and eat and there are no expectations or irritations, just turkey depression, resulting in a long nap after the dishes are done.

It is hard to buy for a man. A shirt and tie is as good as anything else I suppose.

My father never liked buying clothes for himself, and was happy to get clothes for gifts from his family.

I’m with you Nighthawks, go with railroading! I’m a big model railroading fan, so I hope Lynn picks up this part of John’s life!

Train stuff! Yeah! She could score huge by getting him something for his hobby. Or maybe he didn’t start it yet?

If my wife bought me a tie I would know our relationship was at it’s end.
I hate ties!!!!I refuse to wear anything that feels like a noose.

Sadly that is reality. If it wasn’t, the returns desk at all of the stores wouldn’t be so busy after Boxing Day.

Yeesh, Elly doesn’t really know her own brother…OR her husband! Phil loves music and is a musician. He’ll forever need and want music related things.
John likes trains, fishing, tools, movies and video games.
scratches head I know these fictional characters better than Elly does! Elly is such a whiner…
