    personally i’d prefer baked potato to yams or sweet potatos

    Yams are very different. You don’t find them in US supermarkets. They are often called yams, but they ain’t. They are sweet potatoes. Yams are huge things. You can find them in Asian markets, but you would not mistake them for sweet potatoes

    You can’t tell from the comic whether Burl or Joy know the difference between yams and sweet potatoes. What I think you can tell is that Julie Larson believes they’re the same. I say we get up a lynching party!!

    Yams are sweet potatoes, but not all sweet potatoes are yams. It is a variety name, or a family variety name.
