Elly: What's April doing? John: Holding her bunny. She doesn't want to let him go. Elly: Dear me. When he was healthy, she ignored him most of the time, and now that he's not going to be here much longer, she wants to be with him. But, I guess we're all like that to some extent. We take life for granted, and then - when it's too late, we wish we'd spent more time. John: That reminds me... I've been meaning to call my folks.

Elly should have been a bit more sensitive. Panel two was a little too harsh.
