Uh oh, can we say “frying pan to the head”?

This is justifiable homicide or at least grounds for a divorce. My husband would never bring anyone home without planning it with me first.

Elly will learn in time. Yes, call for pizza then sit down and visit with Ted - he might be a hoot!

I may be dumb, but I ain’t stupid… if I had invited Ted without first telling Mrs. Goaler, I would have ordered the pizza! ;-)

Hey, I had this experience just last week. I was exhausted at work and had been promised over the phone that we would do Chinese. I got home and found out friends had been invited over for a BBQ, and was promptly shoved into the kitchen to go make hamburgers. My husband couldn’t figure out why I was grumpy about it.

I guess he gets partial points because he went to the grocery store to get hamburger and buns rather than sending me.

Uh, wait a minute! Elly serves them the leftover supper even they invite Ted to eat for the supper. No way! That is not very nice. They should have fresh and delicious supper to eat!

Never bring home extra folks without calling - and ordering pizza! or chinese…. NO UNEXPECTED GUESTS.

Stir them together, add some catsup and parsley, no one will know. Heat in the microwave!! Voila!!

GuntotingLiberal, no, your husband does not get partial points. He gets marriage counseling.

Wildmustang and Gweedo, the implication of John’s remark in the last panel is that she did somehow manage to pull together a dinner that was NOT leftovers. John is being particularly presumptuous, callous, and exploitive here.

I would have killed him!

She should have served everyone else a nice meal, and given John the worst of the leftovers.

A rolling pin is easier to grab. It has two handles.

I thankfully never went through this. Where my husband worked at people went to their own homes for meals.

Why is everyone blaming John? He can’t know he’s doing anything wrong unless she tells him. She should take him aside and calmly but pointedly ask him if he and his guest would rather have leftovers or pizza. When the guest goes home, she can ask him to please call ahead next time and find out if she is able to make dinner for guests that day. If she keeps taking it, he will blissfully and ignorantly keep dishing it out.
