Wonder what Elly means by ”run out of time”? Before she thinks she’s too old, perhaps? Surely if you have your heart set on doing something for yourself, then age should be no barrier!!! She should be able to join a course like that whether she’s 25, 58, or 93! My two cents…. :o)
And lightenup (from yesterday) I know I haven’t been around here that long, but I can’t imagine you pissing off anybody, you seem like such a lovely person to me! Oh well, I guess there will always be somebody that leaves comments like you mentioned. Better to do as you do and ignore them. Some only do it to get bites anyway. Sad really - you’d think reading the comics would help cheer them up a bit! :o)
howtheduck, uh easier to call Annie who can run out of the house without bringing her kids than a single mom that would have to dress her children and bring along.
It seems even without being in the scene today John is being made out to be some kind of nincompoop who can’t even watch his kids one evening a week. Elly has them 24/7 and John can’t be trusted to watch them for a few hours without possibly needing help?
Hi, I’m new here. Does anyone know if these are new strips or actual reruns from the strip’s early days? (They were too long ago for me to remember.)
Interesting though that they could be straight reruns and no one would know. So little about our world has changed in the past 40 years.
I guess the characters aren’t going to age/grow up this time around. Too bad in a way. I really liked the adults the kids grew into. Very real, convincing process. That was very well done.
You would be surprised how much has changed. We have fun pointing out just that fact when reading these old strips. Lots and lots of stuff to pick apart in the strips.
All of these strips now are the old story, retold. Some have been re-drawn and you can tell because of the style. They do not have original dates on them. You could match up the strips with those in the FBORFW books.
Lynn has changed her mind and is going to run the series again. So we will see the whole thing all over again with them aging and all. Lynn has said she plans to do a new book of new drawings of the Pattersons from where she left off. I can’t tell you when she plans to release it, tho. It will be something to look forward to. I think her rabid fans convinced her to do it.
Hey lightenup and Burgundy2 :o) And mroberts88 I like the way that you say what you think, so I doubt anyone legitimate would be annoyed by your comments. I for one enjoy your perspective on a lot of things :o) And Burgundy2 you’re right about misunderstandings, sometimes I find it helps to wait and read the replies of others, just in case someone comments from a perspective that I haven’t considered yet! But alas, then there are those days when someone just has to say something so blatantly grrrr-inducing that I just have to jump right in and let them have it with both barrels!!! Lol >:o)
Hahahahah thegreentick that’s funny :o))
Ooh sorry Bender_Sastre I have to say you’re wrong on that one! I can see how you thought that though ;o)

People should never stop learning. Concerning yesterday, I wonder if I’ve pissed anybody off.

(mroberts88) Oh, probably… people can be so touchy these days that what I’m saying right now is probably pissing someone off. :P

Good morning, Open Wings and mroberts! I do wish everyone enjoys the comics and comments. Life is too short (and sometimes hard) to not! :-)

John is still waiting for the belly dancing and gourmet cooking classes

“If he needs any help……”
Does Lynn enjoy insulting men like this?
John has proved to be one of the most competent fathers (in any comic strip, if that means anything).
summerdog86 about 15 years ago
The strip is still a day ahead of here at FBORFW. You can go there and get a sneak preview of tomorrow’s strip.

good morning lightenup, and burgundy2. Greentick, people need to toughen up then.
On the strip. John should be fine.

Open Wings, I just realized that your avatar is the cover of one of those “Uglies”, “Pretties”, or “Specials” series. Am I right?
