Well Nat, this and the March 14 strips used the “King Features format” (used by most syndicates in their half-page strips) for unknown reasons (Maybe Mr. Davis wanted to experiment with the format), but apparently, UFS curtailed further use of the format (the only regular UFS strip to use this format was Davis’ “U.S. Acres”).
