In my opinion, this is probably the funniest Garfield strip ever. The first time I saw it, I laughed so hard I could not breathe, and every time since then, it’s had that exact same effect on me. I’m still not entirely sure why. Maybe it’s the fact that they’re literally being served hardtack and swill. Maybe it’s Garfield’s sarcasm or face in the last panel. Anyway, it never fails to make me guffaw.
