Sunday funnies are in color. weekdays and saturdays are b&w. So garfield thought it was a weekday. We are lucky – the online and collection versions of the strips are colored everyday.

All the color has gone out of Garfield’s life just like the start of a 1984 animated Garfield special called “Garfield in the Rough”.

Definitely one of the more unique Garfield comics.

I really like how the comic is colorless at first when Garfield thought it was Monday, then it became much more cheerful and colorful when he saw that it was Sunday.

This is such a meta strip. The strip is in black and white because Garfield believes it’s Monday, since the daily strips were originally printed in black and white, but then when he sees the color newspaper, he’s relieved that it’s Sunday, since the Sunday strips were longer and colorized.
