I’m pretty sure he is a boxer guy, but you can’t really use those for this joke for 2 possible reasons.

It’s probably more commonplace to use briefs for the mismatched laundry joke. That’s namely because…

I’d guess a small fraction of boxer wearers don’t wear white ones. It makes sense, since if you’re going to wear something other than tighty whities, then you might as well get them colorful.

Pour the bleach in the washer with hot water that will make his stupid pink stained brief turning a white. Where is his common sense? None! Sheeshhh! Do not mix white briefs/socks and the color and dark color clothes together in the washer with the hot water; therefore, the color dye will stain on those white briefs and socks.

Or, Jon could buy a white sweater and wash that with the underwear and turn it back to white. It’s laundry, not rocket science. Sheesh.

No, wait! I’ll wear my underwear on the inside today! No one will ever know! Bwah, hah, ha!

Jon a wimp, only tough men wear pink, or whatever the saying is… Liz might actually think he looks manly.

I bet he only wears colors of underwear like purple,pink,orange,and the rest of those colors. ;)

Does it really matter what colour Jon’s underwear is? Who’s gonna see him in it? No one! Maybe Garfield will but he’d laugh at Jon for breathing. As for purple is that any more manly than pink? Not by much.
