I think Jon should look into why he has a spider infestation.

Note to Jon: If you want Garfield to exercise, release a swarm of spiders into the house…

Garfield hates spiders so much. Jeeze!

In some cultures it is considered very bad luck to kill a spider.

Uh, What the smell comes from? Smell like terrible stinky! When I kill the spider on the wall with newspaper or fly swatter, I hate to get that kind of smell, Ewww! I washed something off from the wall right away. The smell just disappeared. EWWW! Hate that smell after spider was swatted on the wall or floor either.

Anyone remember a Jeff Daniels film from 1990 called “Arachnophobia”? Maybe those spiders Garfield swatted are descendants of a sibling or cousin of that one spider. Wowzers!

Spiders are carnivores. With that many spiders, the infestation of whatever they are eating is the real problem.
