The term “going postal” was coined for the mailmen that were killing their former coworkers after being fired(late 80’s and early 90’s). The more interesting phenomenon is the fact that every one of them tried to get into at least two branches of the military and were denied for psychological reasons. Once this connection was found the USPS started asking the military about all postal applicants and it hasn’t happened since.
