Man: There's two dogs tied to parking meters out there. Is one of them yours? Chazz" Yeah, the little white one. Man: He's making a real hoopla. Chazz: He likes to bet with the other dog about whose master is going to reappear first, and then he'll create a commotion to get me to rush out. Well, guess what, I'm not falling for it this time. Man: He's keying his name on the side of that cop car-- Noise: Woop!

There ARE two dogs.. not There’s (There is). I know it’s a comic, but geeeze, isn’t there enough poor grammar going around these days?

Well, the strip made me laugh..
About grammar…
“There’re two dogs” then, eh. It’s conversation, though, it’s not like that ‘breath in’ one. It did change to ‘breathe in’ pretty quickly. :D http://yesyellocello.blogspot.com/2004/07/therere-going-extinct.html

See all the different ways the strip creators get us involved. They’re doing the poor grammar for our own good.

Chazz, you know Poncho will outdo you every time! run for it!!
And about the grammer: is this a grammar school, or a comic strip? Why don’t we just enjoy the strip and forget about the bad grammar and spelling (I’m a teacher, but I know when to let it go). I’m sure the editor of this strip knows the 3 Rs as well. Don’t spoil the fun of the strip - ghee whiz!!

You know if I was making an observation I too would probably have said “There’s two dogs…” Rarely in life do the majority of people find themselves being correct in the speech process at all times.

Thanks for the grammar lesson manhunter but if I would have said, “There’s two dogs…” too. It’s easier than “There are” or trying to make a clumsy contraction of “There’re.”
Poor Chazz. He will never outwit Poncho though he will keep trying.

Ha ha, pschearer!!!
I’m with ms. pixiedreams. While there’re probably very few times I use what I consider to be ‘poor’ grammar, I think you absolutely have to take speech in context of the character, in a comic or show. “What… you go’in ta tell somebody how ta tawk? I’m not.” ~ k

THERE’S Poncho making trouble again. THERE’S Chazz saying, “You’re staying home next time!”
