Shermy, Schroeder, and Charlie Brown are talking on the baseball field. Shermy says, "We've built a pitcher's mound for you, Charlie Brown..." Charlie Brown says, "Really?"<BR><BR> As Shermy smiles, Schroeder says, "We thought it might help your delivery.." Charlie Brown exclaims, "Boy, I'll say it will!"<BR><BR> He walks off saying, "Gee, a real mound..this will improve my pitching a hundred percent..."<BR><BR> He stands atop a very narrow mound and exclaims, "I'm Afraid To Move!"<BR><BR>

He did eventually get a proper pitcher’s mound, though it never helped his pitching much. This one reminds me of another strip, probably much later, where Lucy offered to use a wood burning kit to burn Charlie Brown’s name into his bat. He eagerly accepts, thinking that he’ll look like a real big league ball player, and Lucy turns his bat into a stick of charcoal.
