Violet asks, "How many persons are there in your family, Lucy?"<BR><BR> Lucy replies, "Well, let's see..first there's my father, then there's my mother....then there's me..."<BR><BR> She continues, "And then there's Linus, my baby brother..."<BR><BR> She concludes, "I guess I'm what you might call third in command...."<BR><BR>

It seems that the close resemblance between Violet and Lucy began early. Perhaps Schulz’ drawings of the younger girl were based on those of the older; but with size, hairstyle, and dress changed.
