Lucy and Charlie Brown are sitting in a big arm chair, Charlie Brown is holding a book and he is telling Lucy "In the old days people thought the world was flat.." Lucy replies "Really?" <br> <br> Charlie Brown puts his book in his lap and goes on "They thought that if you sailed too far, you'd fall over the edge, and be swallowed by monsters" Lucy turns to Charlie Brown and says "Honestly?" <br> <br> Charlie Brown picks his book back up and is looking at Lucy as she says "That was kind of stupid, wasn't it?" <br> <br> Lucy turns to Charlie Brown and says" What do we think nowadays?" Charlie Brown looks straight ahead with a blank expression. <br> <br>

It was actually common knowledge that the world was round since the Greek era. They had matematically proven that. They had also matematically proven the existence of a by that time not yet discovered continent. Not even the catholic church doubted that the world was round, their struggle with Galilei was that he claimed the earth wasn’t the center of the universe.
