Lucy stands next to him.

"Nobody REALLY likes me!" he continues as they walk along.

"All it would take to make me happy is to have someone say he likes me..." Charlie Brown says as they stand at the wall.

"Are you sure?" Lucy asks as they walk.

"Of course I'm sure!" Lucy stretches out her arms and says, "You mean you'd be happy if someone merely said he or she likes you?"

"You mean to tell me that someone has it within his or her power to make you happy merely by doing such a simple thing?" Lucy prods as Charlie Brown stands on a stoop to drink from a water fountain.

"YES! That's exactly what I mean!" he agrees. They walk along. Lucy considers, "Well, I don't think that's asking too much...I really don't..."

They look at each other. Lucy says, "But you're sure now?
