I used to have to bring my dog to get his nails trimmed and the “groomer”. I think after a few of those trips he got the message. Now he rolls over on his back and lets me trim his nails like that. He does usually struggle a bit at first, but he eventually gives up. If only my other dog was that easy! She hated having her paws touched so nail trims were always a struggle. Get them used to having their paws touched really young!

Yeah, neither of my dogs submit to nail clipping without a struggle. The one can be distracted with peanut butter, but the other one just either runs for his kennel, or struggles like crazy.
All it took was one traumatizing visit from a mobile groomer and my dog has never been the same since. So I don’t think it really matters whether they are used to having their paws touched, etc. It can all be undone in a matter of minutes. Oh how I would love to know what went on in that van that day!!!!!!!!

It doesn’t get that easy until the dog is so old it can’t resist!

A23 - I wait until evening when mine is sleepy then use the Dremel tool to grind her nails.

Doc i would think you’d need two people just to hold down the dog! (unless one of you is yyyguy sized.)
