Sorry Opal but you need to learn what interests little boys and sorting through buttons ain’t one of them.

Earl’s at that fun age and he looks better in the red hat too.

I’d rather go thru grandma’s buttons cause old buttons have history & character & are arty & pretty, etc., plus you can get all nostalgic over them.

Another activity right up there with watching grass grow or paint dry. What’s next? Alphebetize the recipe cards? Or how about polishing the silverwear?

Actually, I wouldn’t mind going through the old buttons, my grandma always had the most interesting stories to go along with them. Water balloons though….

Years ago, my Grandma rode around Florida on the back of one of her grandkid’s motorcycles - when she was in her 70’s. She was into having fun and it was fun listening to her stories!

again Opal seems to only be aware of what she thinks is fun. If she had any sense she’d realize the things she enjoys are likely not the same things a little boy wants to do
