“Big Oil” does not make more per gallon in the summer from what I understand. Last figure I heard was about 18 cents a gallon. 18 CENTS!?!?! What does that government get again? About 40 cents on the average (state and federal combined)?
Had a friend who OWNED an oil company in the 50’s-60’s, his own statement “An oil company is a license to print money.” That hasn’t changed, and just like Enron etc., the “meager” profit claims put out to the public are shelved in the fiction section of the library. The average state tax on gas is around $0.46. Both lefties and righties are invested in the oil industry, only a Bush can LOSE money there.
So with my math when gas was 4.30 a gallon the barrel was about 140, right?
A barrel = 42 gallons
19.6 gallons of gas can be made from 42 g of petroleum.
So am I right in thinking that 3.76 (price for the oil and taxes 18.4 fed 21.6 state) comes off the 4.30?
This leaves ~54 cents for the “big oil”, refining and the gas stations.
So how again is “big oil” ripping us off?

Oh as well it was you dems that stopped our drilling in the USA, which would do a few things.
1 Make us none dependent on foreign oil.
2 Put BILLIONS back in the USA to help OUR economy.
3 Make millions of NEW jobs Obama lies about doing.
But you democrats are afraid to cut down a tree for personal gain (unless it is where they want their house). You dems do not want to make us energy independent. You dems do not want our economy back on track. It is YOU DEMS that hate this country to put us where we are right now otherwise we would be drilling in Alaska and in the Atlantic!
Before the election the price of gas was about $1.90, because Bush finally lifted the embargo on drilling in this country. After the election BO shut that down and now the price is going up. But it’s all Bush’s fault I guess.
