    What, you hate beets, Scarlett?

    Nice velvet curtain dress, BTW.

Must not be in Texas. There’d sure be a cafe less than 400 miles away. Prob’ly less than 20 miles.

Yes, it was a turnip, but it sure looked like a beet–it was a root beggie, at any rate!

And yet, all I can think about is Carol Burnett. “I saw it in the window, and I just couldn’t resist!”

LibrarianInTraining: I thought about the curtain rod running through the shoulders of the dress.

Rhett was supposed to be played by Gary Cooper, but he turned it down, saying Gone With The Wind would be the biggest flop in Hollywood history. Then Errol Flynn, and finally, Gable, who was the producer’s first choice, but who also wasn’t happy about doing the film. Speaking of Errol Flynn, the Robin Hood part had been written for James Cagney, but he turned it down, so they got Errol instead. “King John, ya dirty rat!”

    agreed Ben_david….

She must be on that long road from Ft. Stockton –> El Paso…. the barren-wasteland drive… but anywhere else in TX is about right with that milage… she would surely hit a TX stop sign (Dairy Queen) eventually… hahaha

I think there is some discrepancy in what she pulled from the ground and ate… I believe it was a carrot!
