From Wikipedia-The Holocene is a geological epoch which began at the end of the Pleistocene1 (at 11,700 calendar years BP) 2 and continues to the present. The Holocene is part of the Quaternary period. Its name comes from the Greek words ὅλος (holos, whole or entire) and καινός (kainos, new), meaning “entirely recent”.3 It has been identified with the current warm period, known as MIS 1 and based on that past evidence, can be considered an interglacial in the current ice age.The Holocene also encompasses within it the growth and impacts of the human species world-wide, including all its written history and overall significant transition toward urban living in the present. Human impacts of the modern era on the Earth and its ecosystems may be considered of global significance for future evolution of living species, including approximately synchronous lithospheric evidence, or more recently atmospheric evidence of human impacts. Given these, a new term Anthropocene, is specifically proposed and used informally only for the very latest part of modern history and of significant human impact since the epoch of the Neolithic Revolution (around 12,000 years BP).

The Holocene Epoch is the current period of geologic time. Another term that is sometimes used is the Anthropocene Epoch, because its primary characteristic is the global changes caused by human activity. This term can be misleading, though; modern humans were already well established long before the epoch began

The Holocene Epoch is the current Epoch and the second one in the Quaternary Period, the first one being the Pleistocene. That’s according to Wikipedia.

The Holocene Epoch started 12000 years ago and is still continues today. So that means he doesn’t want to say how old he is. It’s just like saying: “I was born on Earth” or “I was born at a very young age.”

The Holocene is the name given to the last 11,700 years* of the Earth’s history — the time since the end of the last major glacial epoch, or “ice age.” Since then, there have been small-scale climate shifts — notably the “Little Ice Age” between about 1200 and 1700 A.D.

The holocene epoch was the last 11,700 years! That means Mr. Galvin could be 11,700 years old!
