If you vote for this bill, we’ll defeat you next November. If you vote for someone who voted for this bill, we’ll raise your premiums 300 percent and double your deductible if we don’t rescind your policy. If you don’t vote for someone who voted for this bill, we’ll raise your premiums 300 percent and double your deductible anyway. Got that?

my biggest problem with health care for all is that i just don’t see the government being able to produce such thoroughly informative television advertisements that teach me which color pills i should be taking.

Howie, Dems plan calls for reducing the obscene taxpayer subsidization given Medicare Advantage insurers by the Bush administration in 2003. Some of these private insurers were induced into the Medicare market by paying them 125 to 150 percent of medical payouts, according to the AMA.

Remember GNWachs? He wrote about his Medicare Advantage plan costing him NOTHING beyond his $96 Medicare payment, and having no co-pays, no deductibles, free dental and vision and a free gym membership in addition. He pays nothing for that, taxpayers pay $9,000 a year, according to GNW. That’s what they’re trying to rein in and it was a direct result of Bush and the Reps trying to privatize Medicare but use taxpayer funds to pay for it. (Kind of an oxymoron, don’t you think?)

The insurance industry is a monstrous blood-sucking leech on the backside of the citizenry. They exist solely to PROFIT from SUFFERING. The point of a business is to take in more money than you pay out, right? So how do you think that works with your premiums?

Their lobbyists have been sponsoring and manipulating politcians and therefore the laws themselves, for decades. They have created a legal climate in which it is acceptable for them to impose the most inhumane restrictions and grossly inflated premium prices. They are MIDDLEMEN. They do nothing but help drive up the cost of health care. And they will make sure that you have to pry every penny out of their clutched fists when you need it.

The very notion of a profit motive when it comes to the health of human beings is immoral. Any system which is specifically designed to maximize profits by preventing people from getting medical care is immoral. If you want to make money, sell cars or refrigerators. The health and well being of human beings should never be for sale. If you believe that health care should be for sale then you should move to ..uh…uh..heck, I guess this is the only country on earth where health care is still sold for profit.

Vieteran, financial decisions are made all of the time in individuals’ health care.

If Health Insurance Cos. are all about the profit and nothing else, why are premiums a different price in different states? There’s already tons of government involvement in how they do business.

Besides that, the concept of Health Insurance is, to a certain degree, noble. How many people in America have gotten hundreds of thousands, if not even more than a million dollars worth of medical treatment, amounts they have never come close to paying themselves?

As far as the great government solution, how many Health Care providers are waiting for payments from the man years down the road for services already rendered? They are permanently backlogged in payments.

Not saying there isn’t tweaking to be done, but these anti-Insurance strips are, as usual, omitting a great deal from the argument.

Why is it that the likes of snottfreitas who are against a national health service haven’t noticed that the taxes that are paid in civilized countries for their health care, and which are the exact equivalent of the premiums now paid to avaricious insurance companies over here, are about half as much?

Shut up, snowshoe! America won the cold war with PCs, macs and McDonald’s Hamburgers. You can just stop with your lies about my country. And blue Jeans, I forgot blue jeans …and rock’n’roll… You don’t know anything about what it takes to run this country. Nevermind the money that was probably spent subsidizing your secular-humanistic school-room shenanigans. Who paid for that? Who pays for this Lib-cr_pola indoctrination scam the professors have going on in American colleges? Average Americans who shop at Wal-Mart and the intolerant Barbarians of American Commerce, that’s who! What does the rest of the world have? Heroin shooting and perverted sex in Amsterdam! I’m tired of your cheap throws at my country!
