I have a confession to make. I’m the one who cast the vote for David Beckham not because he wants to bolt to AC Milan but because he’s an egotistical butt-head who thinks he can singlehandedly cause soccer to dislodge baseball as America’s pastime, thinks he’s better than Pele was in his prime, thinks he’s bigger than Jesus and Babe Ruth and thinks his wife “B-word” Spice will always be loyal to him. Frankly I hope Beckham goes, and when he does, Major League Soccer will fold in one or two years without their precious “savior”, proving once again that nobody cares about soccer in this country because it’s played by sissies.
