Voice from TV: And in other news, a commercial airline flight en route from Chicago to Los Angeles had to return home with a fighter escort after a "swarthy looking" man sneezed loudly. The loud nasal discharge, which several passengers claimed to have mistaken for "I hate all American infidels," alarmed those on board. The man was hog-tied and locked in the bathroom until the plane landed at O'Hare airport. He was released seven hours later and given 1,000 bonus miles for his inconvenience.

People were genuinely afraid at this point in time. But my question is, why the targeting? Friends and family turned on each other like one of them could be a terrorist, Arab Americans and Muslims were losing their jobs left and right, it wasn’t fair.
