Europeans had plenty of clay/pottery plates and vessels, and glass as well.
What came in from China was Porcelain, made using a high percentage of Kaolinite clays.

If I never saw that “Made in China” on every item in this country, I would be very happy! Whenever possible, I look for an American manufacturer.

Not only Pluggers’ dishes but also the Federal Deficit and 85-90% of stuff at WalMart are made in China.
