you’re right!….’its’ is showing a possession of it….as in this case……. ‘it’s’ as used here is the contraction for ‘it is’

Mainly I understand it is ALL in communication, Oprah’s Mom spelled her name wrong :D 3 or 4 Strokes taught me this.
