Dumb, dumb, dumb.
If Rover’s gas saver device works so well, wouldn’t manufacturers just go back to using carburators instead of fuel injection?
I realize this is a comic strip but it just keeps getting stupider as the years roll on.
I care to make a note to the ,”Readers of this column” That Jim Scancrelli has been continously drawing this column since 1927! What could be dumb of it? Like Bud Mcdonald (Seal Beach) who passed away9-25-08, both of these men loved the world and now one is gone, they can never be replaced!
Actually, Mr. Scancarelli became Dick Moores’ apprentice on GA in 1979. In 1986, Mr. Scancarelli took over the strip completey after the death of Mr. Moores.
Either way Scancarelli has been at work on GA for a long time and has done a great job of keeping the nostalgic, down home feel alive. I don’t mind if the stories are a little hokey and corn pone. They’re good, honest folk who care for each other. If they’re a little naive, that’s ok. There are a whole lot of other comic strips out there you can read, if you don’t like this one.

So, now it revolves around the spector of the Sultan is buying it to stop it’s manufacture. I.E., keep selling oil for gas hogs.
