I worry every day this strip doesn’t show Walt. I mean, he’s like 115 now, right? How much longer will we have strips with Walt? And Skeezix is right behind him.
I like the storyline here, but suggest it would be better placed in perhaps a new strip so we could build storylines around the central, longterm characters of GA.
Upton is starting to look more and more like a man who has been convicted in the Biblical sense. It will be interesting to see how this plays out in the next few days.
Walt was born in 1898 (confirmed in a 2001 strip), making him 111.
I’ve had an idea for a while now for a sequence that would give him a proper, dignified sendoff, allowing Skeezix to take his place as the patriarch of the Wallet family.
Ramona Lisa needs to be reminded, too, of what the Bible says about women dressing modestly. If Mrs. Peacegood’s clothes don’t fit, the choir robe is a good idea. Maybe she can even sing.
Paul1963 said, I’ve had an idea for a while now for a sequence that would give him a proper, dignified sendoff, allowing Skeezix to take his place as the patriarch of the Wallet family.
In Japan, I’m told, when you reach 100, the Emperor gives you a silver cup in a ceremony. Lately, they’ve had to make the cups thinner, with less silver, since there are so many centenarians. (And they smoke! What are they doing right?!)

Remind her of what the apostle Paul had to say about the role of wives.

Remember that this is the only strip where the folks actually age. I think ‘Walt’ is around 80.

Powerboy, this is a strip where the characters actually age. That’s why Walt is over 110 years old.

If Walt is 109 and Skeezix is 88, any stories built around them should have the swashbuckling kept to a minimum.

Ramona, not showing up will put paid to your (and Upton’s) pretence!

But the reverend’s wife has nothing to wear but skanky type clothing.

He’s talking to her like she’s a turkey at thanksgiving. She should rev his end right out the door.

This is the best non-Wallet story arc I’ve seen in here. I miss Walt, too, but I want to see how this one turns out.
