Without giving anything away, this storyline is still going on a month from now.

Hummmm….I’m wondering if Byrd is NOT in his dressing room at the moment as he is again on his way to Walt’s house to ask Gertie to give him a ride for his performance. But no one is home, and now will think that Gertie has moved on. Gertie will leave the performance with Walt, again heartbroken for not seeing Byrd. I’m hoping I’m wrong about this but Scancerelli…give Gertie a chance and the readers, I want to see Gertie happy.

Bird will be looking for Gertie in the audience, but won’t recognize her.

I think Byrd should’ve called Gertie when he got back in town. She shouldn’t have to go through all this to see him.

With the wig on Byrd won’t recognize Gertie and what disappointment that will be for Gertie.

How can Kanye West barge on stage during the Video Music Awards, but Gertie B. Rose can’t get into Earl Lee Bird’s dressing room? MTV needs to hire that old guy from the Octane Theater to guard the stage.

A bit of an interesting time warp in the presentation. That was typical ’70s rock star inaccessibility. The “star” stays backstage and doesn’t see anyone for any reason, and always has a copious amount of security to keep out the rank and file.

Today, many of those same artists do a “meet and greet” after their shows, coming out to sign autographs, sell CDs and memorabilia and take pictures with audience members.

Amazing what an absence from the charts can do for their perspective….

Gertie resembles one of those 1930’s actresses.
