I used to wash my cat in a bath. He didn’t like it. He could take care of himself by licking and grooming his furry body with his tongue and face with his paws.

I bathe my cats and they hate it but they’re used to it. They can’t do it all themselves.

Imagine if we had to lick ourselves clean?

My cat likes water. He gets in the shower with me, and when I take a bath, I have to watch out for him trying to jump in the tub with me.

That’s an unusual cat runar!!! Although, I believe there is a breed of cat that actually likes water and will swim in it.

He is unusual, but he was an ordinary stray to begin with. One breed that likes water is the Abysynnian/Somali (if you have an Aby, keep your toilet lid down - they wont try to drink, theyll try to swim). Another is a longhair breed called the Turkish Van, also known as the Turkish Swimming Cat.

Runar I once had a kitten like that. He’d walk along the edge of the tub and fall in. Then he’d act scared and want out but he kept doing it all the time so I knew he was enjoying it.

Runar: I think it is the Aby I was thinking of. I didn’t know there was a long-haired cat that liked to swim! Thanks for the info! If I ever get a pool, I’ll know which breed to get to swim with me!
