Oh my goodness! Fred, do not try to catch those innocent birds.
By the way, I put the lotion on my hands before I went to work. All of sudden, something got my attention that the cat held something by it’s mouth in my porch outside. I ran, opened the patio door and then yelled at the cat to let the bird go. The cat jumped to the fence and disappared. I looked at the bird. Guess what! That bird was a parakeet. I was shocked and tried to catch it carefully. Boy it bit my finger while I held it gently. It was so terrifying. I went to the animal vet but it was closed on Saturday. Ohdarnit! So I went to 7-11 convenience store and told the workers what was happened with the parakeet. The first worker went to back room and got an empty box and then I put it inside They took care of it till the animal vet opened next day. I didn’t know how and why the parakeet got out of it’s cage and flew away. Oh boy! I wish I could strangle that stupid neighbor cat’s neck!
I had a somewhat similar experience while living in Dallas. I was walking home from my pub one Saturday night and discovered when I had trun on to my street that one of the neighborhood felinese was going to make a meal of bird wounded on the street. I tried chasing the cats off, but they weren’t easlily moved where a meal was concerned. I got them to back off far enough for my liking, and when I started to make my way back to the injured bird a car came before I could scoop it out of the way. Well let’s just say that the poor creature didn’t have to worry about the cats anymore. Sad but true.
