Jasonezer: Hey, why's that lady scavenging through my computer equipment?! Leave that alone, do you hear me?! That cost me an arm and a leg! Woman: Video card... obsolete. Hard drive... obsolete. CD-Rom, modem, CPU... obsolete. Jasonezer: Dickens wasn't kidding this future stuff is painful. Woman: Hmm. Maybe those tattered curtains are worth something.

Yeah, it’s like a waste of money to buy them and then they are worthless by the next month. Persons should make them rentable then recycle obsoletes.

I never buy any technological item right when it comes out because 1) I get by well with what I already have. 2) I don’t have lots of money. 3) I know that I’ll have buyer’s remorse in a few weeks when I see it on sale for less than what I paid.
I will usually buy stuff that is just now getting replaced with the Latest & Greatest and it is, therefore, usually much less than the original price.

Speaking as someone who has a 7.5 yr old hulk of a tower that still does 90% of what I want it to do… and do it well… I made it w/ parts that were half-a-gen behind the cutting edge, then made appropriate gfx and ram and hrddrv upgrades as necessary about once each at mid-point. So I can’t run any of the newest games–but as a console player, that doesn’t matter, does it?
