At last, the parents have become the children and the children have become the parents.

Oh yum! I love fancy food (but don’t watch it on TV- my family won’t eat it so why be tempted?), but not for Thanksgiving. A few fancy dishes after all the normal stuff is enough (there are at least 20 dishes plus 10-15 desserts on the table here at the in-laws’)

I’m with you, Susan. Just the usual Thanksgiving fare for me. If you’re too full for dessert, wait a couple hours before having it.

With the amount of time my fair lady spends in front of the tube, I expect Swanson turkey TV Dinner and Table Talk Pie. Or maybe those buzzards on The View.

I’m joining Susan001 and Macushlalondra. We’ll just go outside for a walk or bike ride before dessert. I like interesting dishes, but only at a restaurant while I’m relaxing and enjoying a glass of wine.

My BFF watches all those cooking shows and she has fixed quite a few of them. She’s a fantastic cook and so far I have enjoyed eatting what she has fixed.

But as for me I’m the tried and true. I stick with what I know and use the old family recipes. Though when I see something new that sounds good I’ll fix it. I used to enjoy watching some cooking shows but I don’t know any of the ones that are one TV now. I don’t watch all those cooking shows anymore because they make me hungry.

I am making a pomegranate cranberry sauce to take up tomorrow, but other than that it’s pretty much my grandmother’s traditional recipies still made by my grandmother.

Since it’s only three of us, we have our meal at Golden Corral. Works out pretty well; Mom isn’t stuck in the kitchen, Dad isn’t stuck doing dishes, we all avoid leftovers and get just what we want to eat.

We also tend to hit the right time when it isn’t crowded, too!

You know I love to watch them make those dishes but making them myself is a whole other story. The one I did enjoy last year was the one where they had people write in their disaster stories (because I thankfully was not one of them, how I don’t know but thankfully not!) and helped them figure out where they went wrong and showed them how to fix it. There was one woman who was so bad NONE of the FN cooks could figure out how she managed to screw her bird up that bad. She claims her turkey was in the oven overnight and was still raw in the morning. As far as they can figure the only thing she turned on was the oven light. Then she put it in the microwave to cook it. Four FN cooks just stood there with their mouths hanging open. This year, I hope someone suggested that she host and someone else deal with the dopey bird.

My guess best faviorte friend. People who go to resturants like Glodent Correl I hope you tip well. We here will have smoked turkey and crumbtopping with nuts on sweet potatoes. I already this morning made my own type of pumkin pie and not overly sweet. I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving Tomorrow. As for the cooking shows I don’t waTch too much I can’t eat and afford what they fix.
