Wait…. wait… I’m channeling Sean Hannity…. Oh… Obama isn’t really President since the oath wasn’t verbatim.

Please lalas … don’t give the simple minded any new ideas.

I wondered if that would ever come up; hopefully it will go more quietly than the birth certificate controversy.

lalas - that statement was already made! And it’s wrong anyway. As CNN noted, he became president as of noon, oath or not. Besides, even it were challenged (it may have been Hannity who said “it’ll go to court!”), who would it go to? Oh, yeah, the Chief Justice. Yeah, like he’s going to rule against.

mm; Yup, it’s in section 1 of the 20th amendment (adopted in 1933).

And here’s the funny thing.. President Obama got the oath right. It was actually Chief Justice Roberts who got tongue tied… But, regardless, I thought it was a poignant moment of humanity for each of them, smiles and chuckles and seriousness and all. In the end, each is simply a man.

I heard Thom Hartman refer to it today as an poignant sign that at the last minute of the Bush administration his most powerful appointee messed up – as all the others had.

So Obama retook the oath that evening to make certain sure. I saw Chris Todd of FOX all adither because of original slip.

I meant to say Chris Wallace was all a twitter.
