“So Robo-Tracy what do you want to do first?” “Im hngry. Lez go to Jffy Loob.”
I hope Robo-Junior went back inside the birth canal before they loaded him in the truck. I guess that means Tracy has to drive that box truck EVERYWHERE he goes.
“sigh….”; groan…. Maybe Tracy’s first stop should be one of those “Learn English” schools that surround the immigration offices. He could drop Robo off, with Junior, and pick them back up after class.
Oh geeze! I can’t tell whether Robo-Dick is coming or going in the last pane! Tracy looks way too happy to be taking the robot with him. Also, Diet seems to be getting a perverted sense of satisfaction out of the whole scenario. This is getting a little too creepy for me….
I feel the writers of Dick Tracy are setting up a good story, etc yet why I dont know. It could not be a example of all the SUV”s people have been buying for the last 10 years in the respect of practicality.
I thought Traz-R was “too big to go into buildings?” I guess he can fit into trucks just fine though. Now that DT spends his day driving a robot and the robot’s mini-me around, does that make him a chauffer or a soccer mom?
Sorry for the delay in posting a follow-up comment from visiting with DL at the Dubuque Museum of Art reception Friday evening in Dubuque, IA. I’ve spent every second of my weekend investigating literally every detail of last weeks’ Credit Crisis and the Bailout plan that’s followed in response. What a mess! This country needs our prayers more than ever right now.
First, let me say that the display of DL’s editorial cartoons and other politically-inspired pieces of fine art at the Dubuque Museum of Art is fantastic! I highly recommend it to any who can make the visit. I would have, however, liked to see some of his earlier cartoons as they focused primarily on 1990 to the present. Really impressive, though, regardless.
When I mentioned TRAZE-R to Dick, we shared some BIG laughs, actually, so I’m really curious to see where he will take this monstrosity in the current story.
Unfortunately, I’m sad to report that DL has been unable to view our comments here (and elsewhere) as his home was struck by a very powerful bolt of lightning last month that took out, despite more than ample surge protection, all of his home’s electronics, including his Mac and wireless router. As a result, they’ve had to waste countless hours getting themselves back online and restoring the files to their new Mac. Any of you who have experienced anything close to this will surely understand how devastating this type of things can be and how tedious the process goes to get back to some level of normalcy. God knows how he’s been able to keep himself producing in the midst of all this mess.
MPH and I plan a follow-up conference with DL once the “dust settles,” so I’ll keep you all posted. In the meantime, the Dick Tracy Statue Project that MPH and I have been working on with DL and a bronze sculptor friend of his over the past year appears back on track, though Woodstock, IL has now been dropped from the list of potential locations for the piece.
Well, folks, as the saying goes…you can lead a horse to water, but….
Let me be clear here – Woodstock blew it with the Chester Gould-Dick Tracy Museum and now has doubly “blown it” by passing on this amazing colorized bronze statue of Tracy that Dick has designed. This leaves Woodstock with NO EVIDENCE that Chester Gould OR Dick Tracy had ever been present in its’ history. Oh, except for Dick Tracy Way Park which no one in their right mind would travel 1000’s of miles to see, in SHARP contrast to the Museum’s experiences there for over 15 years.
Mark my words, friends, in time Woodstock will recognize the error of their ways, but alas, it is already TOO LITTLE TOO LATE.

Has he shrunk? I don’t think it’s a matter of perspective.

Either Traze R has shrunk to half its size, or that’s one enormous truck. Does this bot run on gasoline? Or do you have to plug him in to recharge?

What?!? Why did they drop Woodstock?
Morrow Cummings about 16 years ago
I figured you and MPH had more swing than that. Woodstock would be a “nacheral” for ol’ Dick.

Sic MPH on Woodstock, Jeff. 10 minutes of him and they’ll give in and reconsider. Trust me.

I think Diet just wanted to clear some junk out of his lab to make room for his next real project and recycled the trash onto Tracy.

Locher keeps recycling that drawing of Jabba seen in the third panel…A LOT!
