Today’s strip is a fine lesson in the English language.

I don’t understand how the robots can make totally closed fists. Oh that’s right, Locher can’t draw a decent hand if his life depended on it.

“GOOD GRIEF!!” My thoughts exactly sir.

Braces held out hope that he could develop a loving relationship with Brute baby, but still wanted to make sure everyone knew who was the boss. It was hard mixing business with pleasure. “Remember, I’m im charge, Brute Force”. Brute Force couldn’t believe what this moron just said. He started laughing so hard he began to drop some of the stupid hockey pucks he was holding and was only able to mutter a quick, “Think so?” in response. Braces realized that now was not the time to discuss this with MF, not with what’s her name right next to him. He never could remember her name. “We’ve got the secret data we came for. Let’s get outta here!” Natasa could only look on in disgust. All this effort for some useless data storage tapes! She knew that If they got out of here safely Braces would have to be eliminated. MF was suddenly picking up some weird vibes that made him drop some more of those oversized life savers. The really disturbing thing was that the signal seemed to be coming from Braces teeth. MF felt more afraid then ever before in his existence. “Nt so fast, geting strnge signls”! Braces was alarmed. Was Bruty rejecting him? He had to know. “What kinds of signals”? MF felt he would rather be melted down and turned into hub caps then have to spend anymore time with this freak Braces. “Why, oh why did I have to be the one shipped to him”? He lamented. He knew he had to get rid of him right now! “Not so gud ones! Take data ‘n run-I must confrnt opozing force”. Meanwhile, Robo-Dick was doing his best to hold his oil in. Right now all he wanted to do was to be back with the lovely Diet, pouring him a glass of milk. Why did Diet betray him by giving him to this clueless detective Tracy? Maybe if he acted brave he could talk his way out of ths situation. “Stnd bak, trcy! Wird fors coming R way!! Dick hoped the weird force was ‘Chief’ Lizz entering the building. Perhaps he could manage to arrange for a little “accident” to happen to her. “What kind od weird force”? “What does he think I am, a mind reader? What a dope he is” Robo-Dick sighed to himself. “Dn’t knoe exakly! But mst stop evl machine”! “GOOD GRIEF”! Tracy exclaimed, stunned at how much tougher and better looking this second robot was. MF chuckled to himself. If this piece of junk in front of him was all that was stopping him from getting away from Braces then he was home free. “Out uf my way, Tin man”!

    To be continued…

This is as good a place as any to bring this up…Comics.com has fixed its web site problem. The comics are up to date and I was able to register and log in; so now I can comment. However, the Li’l Abner strip has stripped gears once again and has started in a different place. Does anyone remember the approximate dates of the Fosdick episode? Life will not be worth living if I don’t find out what happened to Fosdick.

Bassman, you have proved that Locher’s plot makes complete sense after all. Once you fill in between the lines, connect the dots, annotate the manuscript as it were, all is revealed. This is a rousing tale of lust, ambition, and hate after all; none of which make sense to the outside observer. Getting inside their heads as you do shines a bright light on everything. I would vote we promote you to lead guitar, but you would probably consider that a demotion. Please keep going and see us through this.

Bassman Bob continues as my Hero! Locher …..well look at the obvious cry for help in the CrimeStumpers Flipnotes, someone needs to alert the authorities that something weird is going on with the old senile Locher since the strips continues to regress and tread water ( or oil in the case of the robutts). If I lived in his neighborhood, I’d giv’em a call NOW.

Hey Ray C, glad to see you’re in FIVE TIMES!

Bassman…. hilarious(if not extremely long) commentatry on today’s strip! Golf clap!

Ray C… this is as good of place as any to bring something up 4 times in a row. Nice! I think I got the point after the second post.

I think it is funny that one minute MF is this bad robot who is going to turn on Braces, then he says the signals are just “NT SO GUD ONES”, turning into a barely coherent toddler, and giving up on getting away with the loot/donuts/hockey pucks. What gives?

Crimenabers playbook: Keep an eye on the old guy next door!! He might be planning to run for president in the next election.

There’s no two ways about it– we’ve just got to figure a way to get Bassman Bob’s storyline accepted as the Dick Tracy line. At least Bassman has a clue how to write– and think about what he’s writing while he’s at it.

Now is as good a time as any to offer up a little “sidebar” on behalf of Bassmanbob. Earlier in the year at comicspage.com, BB (as we affectionately call him) wrote almost a book-length story spoofing the characters and included the “Boardmembers”, as we called ourselves. It was a masterpiece! It was a hundred-times more entertaining than Locher’s opus. There were sixteen or more chapters archived on that website until the website for DT’s discussion was eliminated. I promise you, it was the funniest reading you have ever undertaken, and we owe BB big-time for the entertainment. As you now see, BB is a gifted writer. Thanks for the entertainment, BB; we ALL miss it!

Morrow is right. BB’s story of Dr. Magpie was a grand epic. I’m glad to see that he’s sharing his writing talent with a larger audience.

Morrow, how are things for you since the storm??

Apologies for the multiple submissions, folks. I kept getting a notice that the proxy was down, and so thinking it didn’t get through I kept re-trying. How dumb was that? Love the attention, though. ;-)

GOOD GRIEF! - ??!??? Wha …??? - Has Tracy suddenly morphed into Charlie Brown? Where Lucy? She’d put a stop to this nonsense in a heartbeat.

Loved the link, Ludwig. I think I recognize one of the actors. He’s the thirty-something-year-old hiding in the bushes wearing frilly Dick Tracy underwear. Behind him is Nurse Tracy with a butterfly net and a hospital orderly with a straight jacket. Strange…….

I’ll give Locher the benefit of the doubt concerning the elderly. Speaking as a soon-to-be elderly person (I’ve received my AARP invite a couple of years ago) I know that some of them need help occasionally. “Keep an eye on them, report anything unusual” could simply refer to health issues, such as a sudden onset of acting as though he/she is lost.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. Of course you can call me BB Margueritem. I’m glad most of you are enjoying my silly little story within a story(except for Dorothy & Toto, I’m sure). It’s a way for me to keep my sanity. PS sorry if today’s seemed alittle too long EatDickTracySandwiches. Sunday’s is tough too write without repeats.

    Peace.

Ray C: I wish I could help you as far as the interrupted “Fearless Fosdick” continuity goes – I know how it ends, but you’ve got to see it for yourself. All I can offer you is this link to where you can buy a copy of the book collection that has the complete “Chippendale Chair” story in it (plus four other violently hilarious FF stories).

    http://www.amazon.com/Fearless-Fosdick-Al-Capp/dp/0878161082/ref=sr12?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1225679602&sr=8-2

I’m sorry the link doesn’t show you what the cover looks like or anything, but speaking as one who owns a copy of this book, I have a feeling you would not be disappointed if you got it.
