Gertie’s hair done shrunk!

That basement looks like a scene from a 1950’s horror movie. Their all eggs that are about to hatch giant monsters that will eat through the door and walls and consume Gertie!

Gertie looks like she’s been drawn by a second grader in the last panel as she looks at all those water balloons with dollar signs on them.

Yeah, that last panel is pretty infantile. JB is a fairly good craftsman most of the time, but you can tell when something has been rushed, or not had much thought put into the design. This reeks of both!

Grok and ridenslide, I agree with ou with what the scene in last panel suggests. Just waiting for the bags to burst open and spray goofer dust all over the city of naperville.

Hmmmm…. Wonder if Tracy has had time to audit Jack’s taxes? Wonder if Jack went to the Naperville tea party?

Zapboy, your plan looks like it’s on the nail; the other workable master-plan is that they let only those as dumb as B.O. win (a hint on this a few days ago when B.O. was specifically described as “bank-illiterate”), as they are giving out counterfeit bills (giving Jack-and-co the delay until “winners” actually try to spend some of stashed-away dough to abscond).

seems like the drawing style of Dick Tracy is getting more and more cartoonish. I wonder if this is an effort to appeal to children?

For instance, look at the dresser in panel one. It’s all wibbly wobbly. Very cartoonish.

Gertie always suspected that there was more going on regarding the ‘Friendship’ BO and Tracy had then they let on. “Something’s up with the way BO always says Tracys name wrong and how Tracy is always by BO’s side when he’s in trouble”, she pondered, upset that BO seemed more touchy-feely with Dick then with her. “BO and Tracy have been gone a long time. I’m getting a little worried,,,, and with all that money in the basement,,,, a little sceered” Gertie said out loud as she held herself and imagined it was BO caressing and comforting her like he would in the past.

Gertie felt loneness raining down on her - like Possums and Raccoons.

Well, it was a decent storyline when it first started. Now, it’s just as stupid as the last few have been.

The magic dollars signs on the money bags are still functional. I bet when Gertie looks at them, they all appear in the center of the bags, just like when we look at them.

BB! Thank Goodness you’r here to explain it to me! I’ve been in the corner since Froxkrybra scolded the class and I didn’t notice you entered the classroom. We won’t have playtime because we critiqued the artwork. Better be quiet about the pictures or you’ll have to stay after class.
