That’s it, Tracy, keep your weapon in your suit coat pocket instead of your shoulder holster…

Uh, two things: Item the first Jack took the gun off of one of the uniforms(Notice the belt holster in panels 1&2) Item the second, the uni is either a rookie, or a moron for leaving his weapon where a supect could grab it. (They teach a course called “weapon retention” at the accademy.)

LordDogmore: Gotcha, the holster looked like a pocket to me at first and second glance. Thanks for pointing that out.

This like the ending of a 1940’s or 50’s black and white mystery or Sci-Fi movie. You think the bad guy is dead or the Deadly Mantis has been destroyed. There is a moment of calm and then they jump back to life to give you one more thrill before they are finished off for good. Friday’s strip should wrap it up and over the holiday weekend we will see a new story developing.

According to the future strips that were linked we have a ways to go with this story. Mr. Big A** gets involved if I remember correctly.

Grok, Thanks for reminding on that earlier hinting at a relationship with Queenie. It’s just the THIRD dead end turn for this story. Another one that goes “nowhere”. It joins the Credir card scam and the Tax returns from the FBI. “Ready in an hour”, never called back. Never to be heard about again.

Sorry Safeway674, next week Jack finally gets his comeuppance and other aspects of the case as Ludwig points out are still going on on June 7th.

We’ll all have to wait a bit longer for any test of Brozman’s character design skills. But Locher may try to commandeer the design function.

When Jack batted the cop’s hand from panel 1 away from his gun, he seems to have removed part of the cop’s finger, and smashed the middle two digits together. Ouch!

Have time for a phone call now Jack?

I just realized this opens the door for more terrible casino puns. I need a prozac.

Didn’t Tracy used to carry handcuffs to avoid these situations? Even in the 1940s Gould showed Tracy cuffing criminals. The strip is now depicting sheer irresponsibility - I have not previously encountered a comic so hostile to its readers.

Making comments on the utter stupidity of this zombie strip is pointless, but I had hope of something changing with a new artist and instead it hits new lows.

What is great about this strip - its complete break with attempting to depict a police procedural to a realm where Garfield is written with more creativity and realism?

If he’s gonna shoot Tracy, he’d better have that hammer back, or that pistol better be double action.

What exactly is Jack aiming for with that gun? Dick Tracy’s leg? What happened to the back-up cops?

Maybe the Naperville cop can use that radio he had on his arm yesterday to call for backup. Then maybe we can see a picture of the 2 story HQ in Naperville. I live in the suburbs and the 2 story building impresses me, totally.

Mrbriberyshrunkenheads, You have got a valid point there. The words are right on … “DEPICTING SHEER IRRESPONSIBILITY”

Some years back I opined in an article that Kilian was writing the strip for little children. Seems I was right but that does not equate to gross over simplification. And we have seen not only a failure to use handcuffs as you point out, but Tracy breaking all police proceadure on the stakeout of the Casino … no back up, and running into the Casino without first calling for assistance.

It’s “mama ba-ba” over simplification gone mad. And imagine, they have a few readers who will stoutly defend this nonsense and call it SUPERB work.

    Wrong universe !

Let me add, It’s amazing that a leading Features Syndication Service like TMS allows this shallow content to continue without taking ACTION !

Schenider (OEJ) has no mustache as Ludwig was correct in pointing out.

Do you usually announce you are going to shoot someone?
