You have to spend some narrative time on the imprisonment if you want to feel it. Sure you could skip ahead: “Daddy! Where were you?” “In a Russian Gangster prison.” “How did you escape?” “Scraped out mortar from the wall with a nail from a broken chair.” [laugh track] And that is often good for a Disney channel sitcom. But we’re trying for something a little deeper than Disney channel. Still the comics though.
