Yes there are “whores of war” but in reality most mercs are patriotic professionals who know what they are doing and doing it for a just cause, former professional soldiers who have had decorated careers working for Uncle Sam or whatever country they are from then if not still working for whatever country are doing something good fighting pirates and drug lords, dictators and warlords. I can’t remember which African country it was but when the U.N. pulled out a mercenary company stayed and could have stopped a dictator from seizing power but because of pressure from whiny ignorant people they were ordered to withdrawl as well
