Annie, what have you gotten yourself into?

I posted earlier about how Annie’s story seemed to be returning to the mood of the old, original Little Orphan Annie strip. Well, today’s entry seems right out of 1934.

Here’s hoping he’s a bounty hunter.

  I say! The gravy of this plot has surely been thickened by the corn starch of irony. Is it a time warp of some kind? Middle panel…Looks very like a scene from yesteryear. One fears for sweet annie.

As they roll down the highway, they are accompanied by the strains of “Foggy Mountain Breakdown”.

Uh, oh!

Of course she looks young for 85. As a Warbucks, there’s plenty in the piggie for the ultimate face lift.
