Billy Dare Boy Adventurer with Quentin in Smugglers' Cape Chapter CXLVI: "Octo-Danger," in which the plot goes strangely astray. Billy: Blithering Blisters! A giant octopus! It's coming this way, Professor Zirconium! What'll we do?! PZ: Let me think... You know, octopi have three hearts. Billy: Can that help us. PZ: I learned that from my college girlfriend Melinda, a budding marine biologist. She was the love of my life, with lips like rose petals. The summer after my junior year, I worked in her uncle's soft drink plant in Virginia. It was there that I met Randall, and the three of us became great friends. One day, therewas an opening on the forklift. Randall: I'm next off the line! What a relief! But Randall was kept on the line, and the forklift job was given to a new white guy. Randall: I'm not working the line one more day! Uncle: Then you're out of a job! Word of Randall's firing spread through the plant. Something had to be done. Randall: Hey, Zircky. Meeting tonight at Old Man Jack's. I felt conflicted. Was I being disloyal to Melinda? But change was in the air. You could feel it. Next: Mollusk Menace!
