Gweedo: Lots of inventions have been buried over the last two hundred years, so your concern is legit. My “invention” (ta-da) for making sure that inventions and compositions and writings are not buried is to first register or copyright them, and then to go to some individual person like George Soros or Jimmy Carter, someone who has spent a lot of their own money to help communities and democracy, and to offer to make the invention open source forever in exchange for a one time up front grant. The donor of the money gets good value for the money spent, you get to survive financially, and people get to use the invention, listen to the music, read the writing. Down with anti-social and asocial two legged hogs!

Why go for the grant from Mr. Deep Pockets? Why not go open-source immediately, without trying to cash in? It’s OK for you to make a buck, but not anyone else, huh?
