I think this is one of Jim’s best drawn strips. The shadowing on Slim in the first panel, the silhoutte effect in the middle panel, and the way he’s got Slim’s leg over the window sill in the last.

Alarm sound? I thought that was the sound of belching! I imagined Slim was about to meet his future self in a strange twist on “It’s a Wonderful Life” or “A Christmas Carol”…
