Fred! Fred? Why are you barking? I need a reason?
To hear his head rattle.
Because it’s twilight, dad!
reference is to “twilight barking”, the English dogs’ grapevine.
As demonstrated in 101 Dalmations
i’m barking because i can
That’s right. It’s a dog thing.
Had a white Shepherd named Sugar once that barked like that. No reason, just barked and barked and barked and barked….
I suspect dogs have an instinctive need for the grapevine (including “probing” to see if there is one).
The reason is why the dogs always bark each other because they just make their communications out somewhere understandably. I could not really stand the sound of dog barking all the time. That is why the rule tells us about the barking nuisance.
My dog never barked - then all of a sudden at age 6ish, she started. Now we know when someone is at the door.
I have a beagle and a dachsund, and their both the same way.
I bark, therefore I am.
Good one, Scrum. I like wmhill’s remark, too. :D I think my dog would get irked by possums…
Mine barks if he hears a leaf rustle.
Mine barks at her imaginary nemesis!
