The wonderful thing about the comics is the comical way the authors get around logical questions, such as, "Where’s the dirt?’ Who needs an answer? Just focus on the simple message and forget the details.
I am very proud of my Army service (50 years ago this August), but although I was liable to instant nuclear annihilation, nobody ever took a shot at me and so I don’t compare myself to what I consider the true vets. Thanks to all.
This strip is the only message to Memorial Day. Thanks to all who served and bless the loved ones left behind as those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom.
Back during the second most unpopular war, my brother joined the Jehovah’s Nuisances and I joined the Corps. Thought I had honored my Dad’s WWII service. Saw Spook do all that work and just decided, no a 37 mile cab fee is not too much to honor Dad today. Thanks Spook.
Even after Johnny Hart, both B.C. and The Wizard Of Id still take a moment to observe this holiday and the others that honor our nation’s heroes who sacrifice their lives to keep us free.

If Spook ever gets out, he should apply to work with Facilities Dept. He’s essentially carved out a canal network below Id.
